2 years down, a lifetime to go...

Today was mine and my husband's two year Anniversary. It seems like yesterday we were walking down the aisle. I couldn't ask for a better husband than Jake...I could write for hours and hours about how amazing this man is to me. God truly blessed me the day he brought Jake into my life. I have said it all before on a different post, but I was going through some very rough times and Jake came at just the right time...I know that was no coincidence. He is a loving Christian husband and father, he always puts family first, and he is always there to make me laugh. Marriage isn't easy, it's a hard road. We are only two years in, and of course we have had our share of problems, nothing big but still bumps in the road...luckily we work together and communicate well and we get through it. Communication is so key...I feel like that is what makes our marriage strong, besides the fact that our faith in God is number one in both of our lives. That is obviously the number one thing that keeps our marriage strong. We aren't perfect, we don't have the perfect marriage, but it's pretty darn amazing in my eyes. I truly married my best friend. We have the best time together doing nothing, just laughing. I don't deserve all this man does for me...I truly don't. He is one of a kind and I thank God for him every day.
I love you Jake! Here is to many, many more years together! Thank you for all you do, I am forever grateful and lucky to have you by my side. You lift me up when I am down, you make me laugh when I want to cry... but most importantly, you run to the gas station, no matter how late it is to get me a polar pop and NEVER complain about it! Now THAT is true love!!! :) I had a great time on our date tonight and I can't wait to spend the weekend with you!!! XOXO

I ♥ Faces Easter entry

Please click on above link to check out some other great Easter and Spring pictures!

I stumbled across this site quite some time ago and I have been enjoying looking at all the wonderful pictures and of course drawing inspiration from them all! This week's theme was Easter and there was an amateur category, so I thought, why not? For some reason, out of all the pictures I took yesterday at the hunt, this Easter picture is still my favorite. I just know that he didn't want to wear those ears, (and he didn't, for long!) but I just love the look on his sweet face here, almost as if he won't look at me, but he will still give me a hint of a smile! My friend says I probably bought him a one way ticket to therapy with those ears, and she is probably right! lol! :) Nonetheless, he looked awful cute!

Easter: Now and Then

I just finished uploading my pictures from our little Easter egg hunt at grandma and grandpa's today and I thought it would be fun to compare pictures like I did for St. Patrick's day. I still cannot get over how much my little man has grown in a year! It's going so fast, I hope I can always treasure every moment with him...life is too short, and they grow too fast. I think I realize that even more when I see these pictures. He was such a blast today, he was a PRO at finding those eggs! :) Hope everyone had an amazing Easter!

Happy Easter!

Matthew 28:1-10
After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.

The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you."

So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me."

So I like to change it up...

As some of you may notice (you know, all 7 of you) that I have a thing with changing my blog background. I am thinking though, that this time, it will be here for awhile. I just really wanted some bright colors for Spring and I am happy with this one...until next week at least! ;)

*UPDATE on previous post*
Connor did WONDERFUL tonight at swim class! I don't think the water was too much warmer but he turned into the little fish that we knew he was. He had a great lesson and Jake and I breathed a huge sigh of relief. He was so cute out there. I will have to get some pictures of him now actually happy in the water! :)

Swimming! (or not)

Connor had his first swim class on Monday night. Both Jake and I were just sure that he would love it because we took him to the pool last summer and he loved it! He also loves his bath and would spend all night in it turning into one big raisin if we let him. Apparently though, such is not the case with him and the pool now. As soon as Jake got in the pool with Connor in his arms, Connor started crying. He pretty much cried through the whole thing. Connor's little friend Madelyn was also taking the class and she did wonderful! Her mom and I did seem to notice though, that she was shivering while in the pool. When Jake got out, he said the water was freezing!!! It was hard to believe cuz' the room we were in felt like a sauna, it was like 85 degrees...but not the water I guess. We were told the water would be warm, but it was not. Sooooo I don't know if Connor will ever like it with such cold water, but we will keep trying. We go back tonight for round two...maybe I should dress him in his winter jacket and gloves to swim in!

I just know he is going to hate me someday...

Pudding Painting!

Yesterday I decided to let Connor do some finger painting. Although, instead of using paint, I thought Connor might enjoy some Oreo pudding instead. I smeared some on his tray table and at first he hated it! He wouldn't even put his hands in it! It didn't take long though and he was right in the thick of it, and eating it all as he went! He was giggling and loving every minute. Boy was he messy, but I didn't care one bit because he had fun! I gave him a bath after and all was well! Plus, he napped GREAT yesterday! Maybe I need to incorporate pudding painting more often! ;)
